Thoughts.....
Had a very weird 24 hrs. Started yesterday at BF support group. A new mum turned up and discovered she's a teacher at my old sec. school. Not only that but she's best mates with my old french teacher. It just got me thinking (always rather dangerous!!) about who I used to be and have 'I' got lost in the past 5 glorious years of nappies and pureed food and vomit and potty training and washing? (I think it breeds!) The answer was yes, what has happened to the dreams and aspirations of the 18yr old that left school? Some were fulfilled, others have not been. But I woke up this morning with the wonderful realisation that 'I' have not been lost at all, because this is me now. Amongst the nappies and highchairs and little shoes and mountains of washing I am surviving, and thriving in this mess.
I just felt I should share this new found awareness, only taken 5 years!! We mustn't mourn who we once were,(as I think all mummies do from time to time) but celebrate who we are now, amongst the choas, because our lives are so much richer for having these darling children. xxx

I agree yes i have my days when i wish for my young care free days (not that i would EVER wish Logan was not here) but to just go sit in the bath for an hour lounge around watching tv going to bed and not getting up till i want to would be great, but then Logan gives me a hug or a kiss (both if he is feeling kind!!!) or his beautiful big smile and my heart melts and i know this is what life is about.

Exactly. I always had this feeling I wasn't complete. Then I met hubby. And then my beautiful daughter came along and I realised just what contentment and happiness is.

Oh you are a teacher, too? Do you teach science?
So sorry, just editing my post, I misread yours, and now see you aren't a teacher, you're just talking about a French teacher... don't worry I'm sure you are still the same 18 year old you used to be

I was just about to say that too, I'm sure I saw Susie had grilled you and that you are 24 and I figured you would have left school at 16 so counting back and then adding years onto teachers makes me feel like a young mum unlike the bros post
I'd be well freaked if one of my old teachers turned up at my bf thing, poor Matthew is at the same school I went to but most of my teachers have retired so he doesn't get the constant comparison to me, my bro and sister x

I stand corrected, just seen your other post and you're approaching 30 .... your teacher should log on here, she may qualify for the oldest mum unless she was a young teacher when you had her !!!!!!!

I was sure the lady in question mentioned she was 29. Makes me wonder how you have fitted all that stuff in already! A gap year... aupair... degree... just completing teacher training then having your now 4 year old. Dear me - that would be a year teacher training (23)... a three year (?) degree (20)... aupair for two years didn't you say? (18) and a gap year (17) - when did you fit in your A'Levels?! Wow - that's some work girl!
Saying that, feel free to correct my maths, not my strong point when I was at school.
