Default This forum has really died on its........

Do you remember when this forum used to be busy?! I check back in every so often but nothing ever happens......

It used to be so useful for little queries that seemed a little silly....

I remember the older members (by that I mean number of posts) warning that this place wasn't what it used to be- and they were right!

So where has everyone gone- is there a specific site everyone has whizzed off to- or it is just busy life taking us away?

Seems to me to be a case of cihldren growing up, parents having less and less to query and probably less and less time to come on here. I check in loads but there is never anyone on any more. Even the few new posts that do appear from time to time rarely get more than a couple of answers at most so the chances of new people wanting to stick around are slim to none. I have thought of posting a few things myself of late but couldn't be bothered in the end because I didn't reckon they would get many if any replies. It's defintiely not the same site it used to be and I think for the most part most of the emphasis these days has shifted to facebook anyway.

I check in but there are so few posts.

Defo think people have moved on to Facebook/Twitter etc as kids got older and dont need weaning advice. Newbies will not stick around as will jead for busier forums,

I check in too but never usually anymore than 2 new posts, I aggree newbies won't stick around as its just too quiet and will go to busier sites.

Having said that, I'm glad I came on when I did (when I first joined) as I had some great advice and have met some fab people who we all keep up with whats going on through facebook!

Think I'll always be popping on every now and again though....just to check! x

Iwantone.......I genuinly do feel I have forgotten everything, lol! But Ruby loves her grub so has made it very easy x

I usu facebook. But i also use another weaning website which is quite active apart from the fact some of them are complete breastfeeding til the child is 17, cloth nappy users, make their own wipes and knit their own socks hippy-types!

I check every so often, but only to see if an older member has posted anything exciting

With a 41/2 and 3 yr old I don't need this forum anymore .

I still find the recipe section quite helpful- especially if I am looking for some inspiration! There doesn't seem to be 'another generation,' of forumites, IYKWIM?

I wonder if this has an effect on advertising revenue for AK? The traffic through this forum is much less now.

I doubt there is much loss of anything to AK with the forum being quieter. There are plenty of followers on facebook and that is updated regularly. You can be sure if there was a problem with loss of use of the forum there would probably be a push to readvertise it and get it going again.
