I think that if the admin team had just left the forum the way it was this place would be busier.

It's now just a generic, formulaic forum with no individuality. The suggestion that more involvement by the admin team would actually help make the forum busier (this does not mean the beautiful mods) is almost laughable. Well, it would be, if I cared!

As you can see, I still have a nosey now and again! Old habits die hard LOL

hey all,

i totally agree tht the forum has long since died out i remeber alot of the older days when it was full of buzz and all the usual gals on here, like noababy, ellie h, mrs ping and all the rest. lots of good laughs and always a friend with advice etc whenever you needed one.

whats that? you dont remember me? LOL thats bcos every time i log back in here i have to create a new username and such cos my password never works i used to be chelle 85 and have been various others whenever i logged back on as i keep having to change it all the time!

while i still find the site useful for recipes i do wish it was like the good old days!

I think all the problems with logging on a while back was the start of everyone leaving to be honest!

I could never log in and I know loads of people had similar problems and in the end it just wasn't worth the hassle, I still can't log in unless I go to post a reply, get told u can't reply without being a member and then following the prompts, I simply cannot log on any other way!

That's when i stopped coming on so often and I think it was the same for a lot of people, and now when I pop on there's nothing here! X

I can't even really put my finger on exactly what it is that changed, other than our babies are now all grown up and we therefore just don't need the same advice and support from each other that we once did. 3, 4 and 5 year olds aren't anywhere near as complex as babies other than behavioural issues perhaps, so there just isn't that urgency or need to post questions anymore. Like Ladybug said, old habits die hard so I do still pop on but it was weeks ago that I last logged on and it used to be the first thing I did when I had spare time every single day.
I think that also such a big group of us became such good friends from here, that we all now talk on Facebook and such like, meet up, have each others numbers etc, so again, there isn't the urgency to need or want to talk to your friends when we can so easily get hold of each other through other means.
Whether a section for more grown up issues could be introduced might be an option but not sure if it's just too late now. This was once a hive of activity but I think it's gone way past introducing anything new or having admin's or even AK's involvement again to get us all back, too much time has gone past now
The logging in problems didn't help matters and also the fact that a lot of "outsiders" who only logged on purely for the competitions were the ones that won them (mostly) also got people's backs up, there was no incentive for the loyal, regular users of the site to stay when we really didn't need to anymore.
I do find it quite sad, as stated on my previous comment, this place really helped me through some incredibly dark times as well as finding me some of the most amazing friends I shall always have now (hopefully) and it's sad that this fun time on here came to a very abrupt end. I am just grateful that I am still in contact with those I bonded with the most and that they were here for me when I needed them all those years ago xx

the real shame is that the site didn't continue to attract new active members. I think if there were constantly new members joining and staying active then it would have remained a much more livley place but that never happened and with all the activity on facebook and twitter it's hardly likely to happen.

onve upon a time this was the only place to chat virually, until Facebook & Twitter, i think they killed this place. i've never been able to upload photos of here unless i took them with my mobile phone camera! that always pissed me off as wanted to get good photos on like others. i also have logging in probs, but tolerate it for the few times i log in each month. its still good for questions & helping other new mums out, so thats why i haven't left for ever, think my facebook friends would be a bit hacked off if i kept posting "kiddy" based queries on my status!.

I still find the recipes section helpful- especially if i have an ingredient I want to use up, I just use the search facility and usually find something useful.

Perhaps AK should go back to its 'foodie,' roots? Especially as the chat seems to be on other sites.

Hi gals! I just had login problems replying to this message, which I must admit is one of the reasons I don't come on here so much these days. It is SOOOOOOOOOOO quiet though. I just clicked on "Today's Posts" and this is the only thread I got - so sad
I do miss bantering with all you lovely ladies (well some of you are lovely ) and I did come back on a few months back when it had a resurge - got a few competitions running like the old days and popped into Maggies for a drink, ha ha, but a few days later it had not really picked up.
Also my life got hectic with baby Oliver on the scene (can't believe he turns one next month!), added to my already gorgeous but exhausting daughter!
Would love to catch up with you all. Not on Facebook these days either though. dilemma! Hope you are all well and happy. Bye for now. MM xxx
