Default Advice please

At school georgia is having some problems with one girl. They were at preschool together where I was first made aware of the situation by a teacher not Georgia.

The other girl doesn't like it when Georgia plays with other kids at school. Her preschool teacher told me about it but as G never said anything to me nothing was done. Now in reception this girl is in the same class and her behavour is the same maybe worse as it is now upsetting G. Georgia has told me that whenever she plays with someone else from her class this other girl tells G that shes not her friend, she doesnt like her and refuses to talk to her. She even got into a fight with another child in the class over it! I have told G to walk away and not play with her any more. I have spoken to her teacher about this. Georgia has come home in tears, almost hysterical over this. Earlier this week she was screaming 'I hate school. I'm not going' Once I calmed her down she told me this girl had started again with her comments.

This other girl has been off now for 2 days as she is ill and Georgia has bounced out of school and been so happy.

Should I arrange a formal meeting with her teacher about this or see how it goes? I hate seeing her like this cause she does enjoy school. I do get on with this girls Mum, I've even looked after her kids whilst she had interviews. I dont see her as much now as she is working and they use a nanny.

Definitely arrange a meeting. Go in super formal, and super pi$sed. They only sit up and listen when they're forced. If you're not happy with how they deal with it, go above them.

How awful, poor Georgia! x
It definitely needs sorting hun, get the teacher told & if it carries on then speak to the head. She's only just started school & it'll only get worse if it's left.

Agree with the others, i would def arrange a meeting with Georgia's teacher to sort it out, Georgia shouldn't have to be dealing with that. Are you close enough to this other girls mum to have a quiet word with her?

Don't chat to the other girl's mum - it will only be taken the wrong way. The teacher needs to introduce the other little girl to some more friends.

let us know how your chat with the teacher goes. i may have a similar situation with Freddie & a full time girl in his reception class. she's new to the school & Freddie liked her straight away, but she's a proper change her mind sort of girl. one minute she's his best friend, then the next she dumps him & say she hates boys. then she's his friend again - he doesn't know what to do & is getting get upset about it. asking "why isn't she my friend anymore?". I've told him not to play with her anymore & just stick to playing with boys. they are better friends than silly girls.

Yes I spoke to her teacher last week. She has spoken to Georgia about what to do and will be speaking to the other girl this week (shes been off sick). I have told Georgia to play with her other friends and not her. I'll see if there is an improvement this week.

Cathy - poor Freddie - hope you get it sorted for him too. Girl problems at his age lol xxx

That problem seems to be sorted at the moment.

Georgia is quite shy and when she needs to go toilet shes doesnt make it known and sits waiting for ages and then wets herself. Today she pooped herself too - hence the smelly shoes No one noticed for 2 hours and her skin is raw The main time its a problem is at lunch time not in class so I am off to see her teacher again in the morning. When I got the call to come get her they told me she was sick???
