Default sugar-free cake - does anyone have a recipe for one?

Hi ladies
A friend of mine is after a recipe for a sugar-free cake, if one exists.
not for her, but for her little boy - who loves cake, but goes a bit crazy after sugar!
any suggestions for her to try would be gratefully received
thank you
xx

I don't have a recipe per se, but do they sell Splenda over in the UK. It's sucralose, which is a sugar substitute. Not sure if it would curb hyperactivity, but could be worth a shot. I do scale sugar back in lots of recipes, but not too much in cakes though. Often you don't need to put in as much.

here's some sweetie....has she thought about making flapjacks for him coz they don't have sugar do they??

Banana Date Teabread

Ingredients.

200g self raising flour
1 teaspooon of bicarb
a good cupful of chopped dates (obviously destoned)
2 mashed bananas (good way to use up over-ripe ones)
handful of raisins
1 tsp of vanilla extract
milk or water to mix to a thick batter
4 tablespoons of sunflower oil

Mix the flour and bicarb. Add in the dates and raisins and mix well. Add the oil, milk and/or water, oil, bananas and vanilla and beat well. Pour into a lined loaf tin and bake at 200C for about half an hour or until well risen and a skewer comes out clean

Orange Muffins

Ingredients
16oz self raising flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp orange peel, grated
1 eggs
6oz orange juice
8oz butter
1 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla

Preheat oven to 200. Grease 12 muffin cups or line with paper
liners. Combine dry ingredients (including orange peel)
in medium bowl. Combine and add egg, orange juice, melted butter,
milk, and vanilla; mix just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Spoon into prepared cups, filling each cup 1/2 full. Bake
18-20 minutes, until golden brown.

They sound yummy Bubba!

She could make the Oaty Firelighters without the sugar - they would still be sweet enough as I was thinking next time I make them I might not bother adding any.
