Question Have you ever..........................

.....been having such a horrible day that it's put you right in a can't be bothered mood, to the point you can't be a*sed to cook for your LO? Or am I just the worst Mummy in the world for feeling like that today, just can't be bothered at all so thinking sandwich for lunch and beans and scrambled egg on toast for dinner that's really bad isn't it??!! Just want to crawl into bed today and stay there!!

Yes - I admit that I have done the same thing. Don't give yourself a guilt trip. It's a one off. Some kids eat like that every single day.

Hope you feel ok soon xxxx

I think we all have days like that hon. Poor Isabelle had the same tea two nights in a row a couple of days ago, all because I hadn't planned enough. (It was healthy chicken, potatoes, veg and gravy but still.)
You do a great job 99.9% of the time (I've read your strawberry milk thread comments) so just relax about the 0.1%!

xx

My god that is sooooo normal!
There are plenty of kids who get hardly anything home-cooked at all. And my boy often gets the same thing two nights in a row... as do I and OH as a matter of fact.
My health visitor said a great thing to me the other day when I was fretting about not being a good enough Mum: "Oh my dear, a mother's place is in the wrong!"
Please put that stick down and stop beating yourself!!

I'm sure he'll love a sandwich and scrambled eggs as much as something you'd taken hours to lovingly prepare for him. As long as it's healthy and balanced I'm sure he wouldn't give a toot! xx

Thanks guys, feeling less guilty now after your replies. I guess what it was I was feeling more guilty about is that I don't mind him having snacky type things for lunch but always like him to have a cooked meal at tea time but just can't face it today. Anyway, he is happily munching away on a sarnie and some organix crisps now and I guess the only bad thing tonight will be the beans but the eggs are good, so maybe it's not that bad and if anything I know he'll eat it, everything I slave away cooking these days he refuses anyway! just one of those days today, sorry

Claire, as Abi said put down the stick and stop beating yourself!!!!!! As convenience food go, Finlay's lunch and dinner sound fine!!!!!In my AK book, Ak herself lists healthy convenience foods!!!!! Superfoods for Babies pg 24! And Beans are on the list!!!!!!!
