Thumbs down Too Much Salt On Macdonalds Chips !!

I have been meaning to put this on.I went to Macdonalds last week havent been for ages and Lottie had a fish finger happy meal and as I said in the title the chips had sooooooooo much salt on them it was terrible. They should give you salt in packets to put on yourself.I was having to really wipe it off the chips !!!

I think Annable should create a vegtable bag to go with the happy meal for Macdonalds it would be far healthyler.i no I would choose that as part of the happy meal, makes it more of a meal.A corn on the cob would be nice, like what KFC does.

I have taken my own veg with me in alittle pot when i knew i was going to a resturant when shopping.

I may complain to Macdonalds. You can see the workers smothering the chips in salt and shouldnt you have the option ??

Totally with you on this!

We had to get tea on the run last night. Finished work hours later than he expected so he we didn't collect Ethan until 6:30 and then had to go and visit mt Dad before Ethan's bed time! For a change we went to the drive through McD's on the way to my Dad's. I let Ethan have some McD's chicken nuggets and fries. There was faaaar too much salt on the fries for Ethan, they were even too salty for me! I was wiping the salt off too. Plus the dozy moo's forgot to give us the fruit bag which we had paid extra for.....grrrr.

I'm surprised that they salt the fries at all and agree that you should be provided with sachets if you want to salt them. I know some do this so why not all? Even though McD's isn't the healthiest meal I think it can be enjoyed in a balanced diet and would be much better all round without all that extra salt on the fries.

xxxxxxxxxx

Funny you should start this thread, because when we go to MacD's (which I love, BTW), I get a fillet o'fish and get M. the fish fingers. I've tasted his fish, and it is definitely not as tasty or fresh as the fish sandwich, they taste REALLY fishy and they are also very, very salty, more than the sandwich, I think. It surprises me.

I have to scarf down his chips so he only eats about five, otherwise it's just way too much salt, I agree. (More for me, he he he.)

They do have a veggie (carrot stick) bag option and also a fruit bag (apple slices and grapes) option instead of chips with the happy meal, but Myles won't touch either one. So I finally gave in and now just get the chips (and eat them myself

I guess I shouldn't admit to going to MacD's on this site, but we do, ususally once every two or three weeks.

Yeah, the balloons are great but the plastic bit at the bottom is SUCH choking hazard. (Can you tell there's no pleasing me today?)

You can ask for your chips unsalted and they will make a fresh batch for you, they have a separate tray and scoop which is usually on top of the fryer. Thay are always pretty good about it too. Only know this because my brother worked for them about 10 years ago.

Ooh that's useful thanks!

I take Isabella now and then (when I have a chilli chicken deli sandwich craving!) and she normally has nuggets, water and a fruit bag. I happily let her finish a few of my chips despite the salt as she doesn't have it on anything else so it's a one off. Much prefer the unsalted option though!

I worked for them when I was at University many years ago and was told this was all untrue. I think there have been libel cases which proven the rumours to be unsubstantiated, but don't quote me LOL!

Agree totally about too much salt, there's too much salt for me and I like my chips salty, we go maybe about once a month when we go up to the big retail outlet in Tarragona and I usually buy Joseph a hamburger or chicken nuggets and a yoghurt and he has a few of my 'wiped of salt' chips.
