Default Drinking water

Hi all,

Tristan is almost 11 months and I am still boiling his water and then cooling it for his drink. I was going to continue to do this until he was one, but just wondered when you could just give them the water straight from the tap. When did you all stop boiling you LOs drinking water? xx

at 6 months. i thought you only needed to continue to use boiled water for making up formula (i .e til 1 year).

It does get confusing doesn't it? I started giving India tap water to drink at 6 months too, had a couple of slightly runnier nappies to begin with and then she was fine

Well I thought you could too as that's what it said in all the books, but when I asked my HV she said that I should really still boil it, but sometimes it's a real pain and was just wondering if anyone had actually given their LO water straight from the tap at 6 months, and if they'd been ok. Think I'll give it a go and see how he gets on. Can't imagine one month making that much difference. Thank you. xx

Ethan had tap water to drink in a cup and to dilute juice from 6 months. If we use powdered formula (which we don't often these days) then we still boil the kettle to make that.

xxxxxxx
