Just out of interest, does anyone know why you need to boil it to use in formula but not if just using it in a beaker? Just curious! x

It is because there are certain bacteria present in powdered formula that are killed when the formula is made up with boiled water (formula should be made up with water that has been boiled no longer than 30 mins previously as the water needs to be over 70 degrees C to kill the bacteria).
