yep you can use a high chair from 6 months, some makes from 4 months (they usually have a recline facility). occassionaly your LO won't be able to sit all that well in the high chair to start with (they slip down, or flop to the side) but some high chairs come with buffer cushions to help. i just used rolled up blankets/ cushions to help prop my lo up.

I didn't think you were supposed to use a bumbo once baby could sit up unaided?? can't remember sorry. You can use a high chair now (some convert to toddler chair for use around the house too).

If I remember correctly the warning said, it was suitable to 15months and to stop using it once your baby could get up out of it. xxx

Hmm... that would be abt 2 months ago: left R in his Bumbo whilst I when into the kitchen and then I heard a thud followed by a cry: he was on the top on his back. Have used it whilst i have been sitting beside him recently and he can get out of it v easily now by rotating himself round in it.
Having said that, R was an early sitter and I think the Bumbo helped with that as it strenghtened his back muscles to enable him to sit unsuppported early.

We have a high chair for my little one and she is just six months. she can sit up but loses balance quickly so the high chair is in a slightly reclining position to make it comfortable for her. We tried one of those Bumbo chairs at a friends house but her little legs got stuck in it and she cried!!

Dion's legs were too chunky for a bumbo so we got the Fisher Price Healthycare highchair which is fab as it has loads of padding and three recline positions, so it's comfortable for a baby not quite sitting unaided x

i couldn't quite remember, Freddie only sat in his about 3 times -he was just too big & struggled to get out of it. Can't imagine how he would ever have fitted at 15 months! thankfully we were lent it, so its gone back now so not too much money wasted that time. haha

yeah, think most people felt they were a total waste of money. i remember someone saying that they were having a shower & their lo was sitting in it in the bathroom, but fell over in it right flat on their little face! ouch.... i thought ours was a bit dangerous.

sorry jane, i forgot to say that my son LOVES his yellow fisher price rocker chair. its not a fancy pants chair but he bounces for ages in it. it vibrates and is very comfy. hes 19lbs and can still easily fit in it. heres what it looks like: http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?...duct&pid=39863 it cost around 19 quid.
