Default how much?

Hi all,
My ds is nearly 7 months and on solids since 5 1/2 months, I was just wondering how much food ie; oz or grams are in one annabel karmel foozen cube?

While im here, what do you think of his routine? he gets;
7/7.30am BF
8am 3 spoons baby breakfast
11.30/12pm 7oz bottle
1pm 1 cube veg + diluted juice/water
3.30/4pm 7oz bottle
4.30pm 1 cube fruit + diluted juice/water
6.30/7pm 8oz bottle
Midnight BF

He has a dairy free diet (bad eczema) Soy formula
Should i increase his meal? If so how??

Hi,

In regards to your routine i am a firm believer in the 'mum knows best' saying, so if your baby is putting on the right amount of weight and getting enough nutrients then keep doing what you are doing! however this is the routine of my 6 1/2 month old boy (started weaning at 5 1/2) if this helps:

7.30am wakes up

8am: Heinz baby cereal (apx 3 d,spoon of cereal to the same of warm water)
followed by 210ml milk (approx 7.5oz)

12.00 210ml baby milk (going to start giving him another puree cube soon)

4pm: veg or fruit puree cube followed by 210ml milk

7.30pm: 210ml milk then Bed

Hope this helps
Jenna x

My lo is 7 months and used to drink about the same amount of milk and eat about the same as your lo. But my HV sugessted that inorder for her to eat more I should try to cut back on the amount of milk she drinks so she is more hungry for solids. I tried this, going from 7oz bottles 5 times a day to 5 oz bottles 5 times a day and it has worked. She now eats 3-4 cubes of food a day plus breakfast cereal with half mashed banana plus her milk. As long as she drinks at least 500mls of milk a day its enough.

Reading this it makes me think that my little girl is having an awful lot:
7am BF
7.30 ish - two tbsp porridge
11.00am BF
12.00pm 3 cubes mixed veg + water to drink
3pm BF
5.30pm 3 cubes of fruit or veg
6.00pm BF
7.00pm bed.

She is 6 months old, started at about 5 months, HV said to increase her meals quite quickly provided she was hungry for them and she always eats every last bit. In AK's book, "one portion" is often more than one cube if you follow her recipes.

It's interesting to see what other mums are giving there little ones as I always wonder if I'm doing it right!
My 6month just started on solids about 3 weeks ago, he gets;
8am 8oz of formula and Farleys Rusk
12pm Cube of Veg and cube of fruit puree & 8 oz formula
4pm Same as 12pm feed
8pm 8oz formula and off to bed!
I'm still having problems with him eating his veggies so he does tend to get more fruit, but he seems to be doing ok.

Veggiemum, Rhys has dairy free diet too as he has eczema: was allergy tested last week and he isnt allergic, just has an intolerance. His skin became a bit rashy when he started formula. He's on Nutramigen (a partially hydolysed milk): we were told 50% of kids that have a formula milk intolerance/allergy also react to soya milk. Were you told this when they started your lo on the soya? We have been told to avoid soya til R is 1 so its kinda a bit rough as it means he can have soya yogurt or proper yogurt.

Thank you all for your replies! Have increased ds to 2 cubes at both day feeds and give 4 baby spoons of baby breakfast (dairt free) in morning and then a cube of fruit. he takes 2 BF's, morning and evening and about 20 oz of soya formula.

Hiann,
No we weren't told that about soya! I asked my phn about getting ds allergy tested but she doesnt know where to get it done. Have an apt. with a dermitologist (spell?) at end Nov, i make all my own food for ds, only gets plain veg or fruit puree- dont add herbs or dairy and have avoided berry fruits as was told alot of babies ger worse with them. what do you feed your lo?
