Default Only finger food will do!

Help! My 20 month old son will only use a spoon for breakfast and yoghurt and point blank refuse one for anything else. Obviously that only leaves finger foods but I feel his diet is really restricted because of it. He will eat peas and sweet corn every so often with his fingers but that's the only veggies. He'll very occasionally have pasta but won't go anywhere near potatoes (in any form) or rice. I've tried making homemade burgers, sausage rolls, chicken dippers and fish fingers with hidden veggies but he just won't touch them. Any ideas welcome please!

Is it only veggies you have a problem getting him to eat ? What about fruit ?

If he won't eat larger chunks of cooked veg have you tried cutting them up small so they are simlar in size to peas and sweetcorn and mixing them up together.

Tomato sauce is a great way to include veggies. Cook them in it, blitz it all up together then use it on pasta or better still from a finger food point of view, on pizza.

Finely grate veggies, mix into beaten egg and cook an omlette.

Not using a spoon shouldn't restrict his diet at all as most foods can be offered in a manner suitable for eating by hand.
