Strawberries??

Ok I am very confused. I have heard people say "don't give babies strawberries until at least 12 months" but then there are baby foods and recipies from 4-6 months that have fresh strawberries in them. My baby is 6 months on the 28/10/11 and has been going very well on solids since 4 months. I am confused as to wether strawberries can be given or not. I seem to be getting dictated to about a few things lately and I am starting to get scared to trust my instincts

Fresh strawberries are best avoided by babies who may have a tendency towards allergies (i.e. where there is a strong history of allergies in the family) as they may cause a reaction. Cooked strawberrie on the other hand are fine, and any commercial foods you see containing strawberries will have been cooked.

I treated them like most things with my DS when I was weaning him. If they agreed with him they were fine so he had them from early on.
