Default help with meal planner

I am following the meal planner- 'after first tastes' i'm just finding it difficult to fit in all the feeds. My son feeds every 3ish hours so he is having breakfast and his bottle at about 7.30am, then bottle at 10.30, lunch with water(well trying to give him water!) at 1.30. My problem is that i want to give him some food for tea but with the meal planner it says his next feed should be milk which would be 4.30 then tea which would end up being 7.30pm!! Am i getting my times wrong should i be feeding him more often?? Help!!

The meal planner is only meant as a guide. You don't need to follow it to the letter. Just fit in solids around your LOs usual feeding schedule and at whatever times suit you best. Don't cut out or cut back on his milk feeds, they remain the most important source of nutrition till he is one, and don't change his usual schedule. When I was weaning my son I just offered him solids about half an hour before his usual breakfast/lunch /evening feeds (i.e. the feed at roughly those times of the day), then he would have the milk as usual afterwards.

Don't worry if he doesn't want water, again he should be getting plenty of liquids from his milk so just offer it and maybe get a non spill drinking cup you can leave around with him when he is playing so he gets used to it, offer it every now and again and eventually he will get used to it.

That makes a lot more sense, so as he gets older will he just need less milk and will eat more food?

Pretty much. The best is to let him cut back on his milk himself and look for more food himself. Just follow his lead, if he starts drinking less milk or cutting out a feed himself then let him do so but don't do it for him. Similarly if he is clearing his plate every day offer him a bit more, but don't force it on him and similarly don't stress if he decides he doesn't want to eat as much as you are offering him.
