Unhappy New Foods

Hi, any advice is welcome! I started weaning my baby boy when is was 21 weeks old. He takes to new foods really well and loves trying new recipes. Now I am starting him on lumpier foods for example I made Annabel's Popeye pasta (spinach and Parmesan) and First Beef Stew and he is rejecting it!!! I am not used to him turning away foods and I have persevered for a few days with the same meals but just no luck. I got very frustrated because its a lot of time and money... He is now seven months and I am worried that he is going to reject new recipes and just wants to stick to the "old and trusted"... I really want him to grow up with a variety of foods but. any help and advice welcome!
Do I wait a week and try again? ...and if he rejects food do I go an defrost something that he does like? I dont want him to keep getting the same meals!!! Any help and advice welcome!!!

It could be the texture he doesn't like, rather than the foods themselves. Why not give him something he likes, but make it lumpier than usual to introduce some texture that way and see how he gets on. Try him with some finger foods if you haven't already. Let him get to feel and play with the food as well as trying to eat it himself - yes it's messy but he needs to experience the foods.
