Default Defrosting frozen purees

Being new to starting solid foods with my 5mo old, I was wondering if it was alright to defrost frozen puree cubes in the microwave on a setting of, say, 30% instead of heating them at full power. Can anyone speak to this from experience or dietary knowledge? I was mostly wondering if the defrost setting would remove nutrients from the puree. Annabel's book says the microwave protects nutrients, so I'm more or less being paranoid. Thanks!

For fruit and veg purees you can just leave them in the fridge overnight and let them defrost naturally. If you need to defrost in a hurry then the microwave is just fine. Just use whatever defrost setting it has. Once you start to include meat and fish in the food then you need to defrost it and reheat it to piping hot before you use it.
