When to wean off formula milk??

Question, When have people started weaning there little one off formula milk, i remember with my first one 8 years ago I ended on her first birthday. Is this still the case?? or are people ending earlier as I have two and half cartons left and my LO has 16oz a day. My little on is 10 months and weight around 23lbs and eats a wide collection of fruit and vegs.

Hi and welcome!

Its still formula as milk drink til they are one and then you can go to cows milk as the drink. From 6 months you can use cows milk in weaning but!

Cow milk is very light. So it is good.

We stuck with bf and then formula till my LO was one then made the switch to cows milk

Full fat cows milk is great, once your baby has turned one. Up until then breast milk or formula should be used as cows milk doesn't provide enough of 'the good stuff'.

Up until your baby is one he or she gets most of their nutrition from breast milk or formula and solid foods only compliment milk feeds at this stge.

We switched both Ethan and Elodie from formula to cows milk at 12 months.
