Default 16 month old struggles with lumps

Hi there - I am hoping for some advice with my little one. She has been eating solids for some time now, but I am struggling to get her eating finger foods and lumps. She loves her food and is showing an interest in feeding herself from a spoon, but as soon as something has slightly larger lumps she struggles and quite often throws everything back up. We also are having the same problem with finger foods when she shows an interest in it, which is rare.... She was three months prem, but this shouldn't affect her I don't think!

Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you!

Sue

I am sure you have probably already tried this but how about mashing half of her food and leaving the other half in smaller lumps and take it from there. Just keep offering her the lumpy food too and don't make a huge fuss if she won't eat it. x

Hi,
Well its perfectly normal as alot of kids these days are suffering from the same. The best way is to cook what ever you wana offer , in a baby way means a bit softer, try offering rice with currys, meatballs, fish but make sure there is a gravy with it to soften the texture. once she got used to the idea, slowly you can try to reduce the gravy and keep the food abit drier each time untill she gets used to it.
Good luck.
