Default Rice...

Maybe a silly Q but can I freeze and reheat rice??!

Made the AK fried rice recipe y'day and theres some left... it just doesn't say in the book if freezeable/reheatable...

I don't like to do this with rice as its one of the worse foods for bacteria (so dh keeps telling me). Not sure if it would be the same if frozzen as its not known for keeping its consistancy.
All I can say is if you do make sure you re-cook till really hot and allow it to cool, that way anything lingering should have been killed off.

I freeze it all the time and we never have a problem. Generally if I am making a dish with rice I cook up the rice, serve up what we need and immediately put the rest under cold running water to cool it down really quickly. Then I pot it up put it straight into the freezer. I freeze little pots of single servings for my LO, then to defrost I put the rice in a big pot of boiling water, strain and serve.
