Default can I use fresh apricots instead of dried?

My DH did the weekly shopping (very nice!!) I asked him to get some apricots not thinking I would have to say dried! so he bought a large bag of fresh ones instead. I have looked at most of the recipes and they say to use dried, I don't want them to go to waste to can I swap them to the fresh ones???

Thank you

I use fresh one all the time during the summer cause they are in season so work out a lot cheaper than the dried ones.
