Hi My son has been suffering from constipation since he was one month. In the begining my pediatrician told me to give him, 1 once of water to one teaspoon of demerara sugar, three times a day and once he started weaning my ped. told me to try and give him one jar of prunes a day. She told me not to give him apples, bannana's or rice cereal as this will make him more constipated. He also does not like drinking water so instead of water I boil pears and I freeze the water in ak cubes and give it to him as a drink and he likes it. The pears I just puree them. I found that by giving him the pear juice and the prunes make him go every day. Also try and give him food with fibre in it. Hope this would help! |

Juicy pear and prune puree
Ingredients ~ 2 ripe pears, peeled, cored and chopped ~ 2 stoned prunes, chopped ~ 1 tbsp baby rice Technique ~ Simmer the fruit in a saucepan with a little water for 5 minutes. Puree to the desired consistency, using as much cooking water as needed. Sieve to get rid of the tough prune skins. ~ Stir in the baby rice while warm Can this be frozen too? Obviously without the rice or can you do the rice too? |
