Default FAO Ellie H, Mrs H and Dara

I was wondering are your LOs now eating what the family eats or are you making separate stuff for them

Gave Abbie the Super Salmon Pie tonight (Ellie I love you for that recipe we have it once a week now - ps put sweet potato instead on the top for the girls and they loved it!!!!) for tea and she woofed it down, did have to blend it still though we are struggling with lumps quite a bit. This is the first time she has eaten the same thing that we are all having for tea.

Tried her on bolognase but she wouldn't touch it.

Am trying to think what things i could do for all of us that she would have.

We are also struggling on red meat.

Any suggestions or things that guarantee clean plates from your babies would be appreciated.

I'm doing a bit of both really. I made Ellie Super Salmon pie too and Sophie really liked it the other meals I've cooked for all of us are spag bol, lasagne, shepherds pie, macaroni cheese with cauliflower and brocolli, roast chicken/beef/lamb dinner, made a few different soups and just whizzed them up.

I do have pots in the freezer just for Sophie and Jess if they have something different from me and OH.

With the spag bol I whizzed the meat up a bit and gave her baby pasta stars to get her used to lumps, she is fine with them now.

If I think if anything else I'll post x

just remembered the girls sometimes have scrambled egg on toast as an easy dinner x

sounds like you guys doing really well Cheryl.

Iz is so easy to cook for she eats pretty much what we have or will have easy stuff like dippy eggs etc.

Think cos i am so hung up on cracking the sleep first, i want to give Abbie things i know are guaranteed she will eat so think that has stopped me experimenting with her and getting her to try new stuff.

I have whizzed up roast for her. Think will try shepherds pie, she hated the bolog!!!

All those sound good ideas.

I'm a lot more relaxed this time round with feeding, Jess wasn't eating half the things Sophie has had was too worried she'd choke etc

It's been trial and error with a few things but so far she has been really good, Jess gave her a chip yesterday when I had my back turned, apparently she loved it lol!!!!

You've had things tough hun and I don't blame you for wanting to crack the sleep first. xxx

Elodie's been having what we have for a long while now. She only really had different at the very beginning of weaning.

I cook from scratch and just make sure that I don't add salt to cooking.

She loves Super Salmon Pie, spaghetti bolognese (I cut the spaghetti up with scissors and stir it into the sauce), she likes a roast dinner and will pick up everything and feed herself (she loves Yorkshire puddings!), if I make a beef casserole she'll eat it with her hands too. She even had a very mild Jamie Oliver recipe chicken tikka massala last night.

She's a Little Miss Independent so at lunch time she always has something she can feed herself, current favourites are hotcross buns with philadelphia, and mini cheese or tuna mayo sandwiches. Followed by a banana and yoghurt.

Once a week we have low salt beans and cheese on toast, which she loves.

Oh and she is very partial to potato (unlike Ethan!) so chips, wedges, mash, roast potatoes are all favourites!

At the moment we're really lucky as she will literally eat anything! Hope it stays that way.....

Love this thread! Little A will be 7 months tomoro. She is eating thick purees. Mostly veg and fruit ones. Big A loves broccoli so Little has has broccoli a lot!! She had chicken a few times. I cooked AKs Salmon surprise for her the other day (pg. 79 of 100 baby purees) and she loved it. My bigger two had it - unblended - with pasta. It's salmon cooked in orange juice with cheddar cheese. Yum!! She's not sitting independently yet so won't introduce finger foods till she is. She chews on a rice cake every now and again.

wow Ellie sounds like Elodie is doing amazingly (she's about 6 weeks older than Abbie I think). and Dara little A sounds like she is trying new things too.

think i am going to try and plan a bit more to have stuff we can all eat and try to give her some finger food every meal time now, gave her a bit of hot cross bun a breakfast but she wasn't keen.

i do a really mild fruity chicken curry that we haven't had for ages that i am pretty certain she would happily eat so will try that.

couple of stupid questions..rice can you whizz this up if i mixed it in with the curry, my aim would clearly be to get her to eat rice whole but we aren't quite there yet.

also Mrs H with the pasta things like lasagne and macoroni/ broccoli cheese do you just whizz these up in a blender, what happens to the pasta does it blend ok?

thanks!

I don't whizz the pasta up in a blender just mash it down into smaller pieces and Sophie is fine with it xx

we went to a friend's for tea tonight and Abbie ate a piece of garlic bread and some steamed brocolli, she did really well. Am definitely going to keep giving her finger foods now at each meal as she is clearly very interested.
