Default Peanut butter

Hello there,

Does anybody know when itīs safe for children to have peanut butter ( the smooth variety)?

I know that clearly you canīt give them nuts (whole or chopped) for the first years as they could choke. And itīs not even something we would normally have at home but the other day my husband bought a jar so that made me wonder whether it was ok or not to give it to our son, who is 22 months old .

Thanks!

I dont know what age, but found out from my sister-in-law (whose niece has a nut allergy) that if you give it to them while they are too young, it can result in them having a nut allergy, which I think I may have done with Evan as I think hes allergic too *bad mumm*

Right. Thatīs obviously something to take into account . Neither my husband or I have got a nut allergy but my brother was allergic to peanuts. So, maybe itīs better to stay clear of them for a while, then.
Thanks!
