does anyone have any recipes using black treacle???

i bought a tin of this when i made xmas pudding and now wanna use it up as it's just sat in my baking ingr draw looking sorry for itself

You can make gingerbread (the cake not men) using black treacle; I'll hunt out a recipe later and post. Sorry, a bit busy now!

It's also used in stuff like sticky toffee pudding and treacle tart. There are loads of recipes on the bbc food website, I've done one or two from there in the past but no ideas which ones at this stage.

You could use it to coat some chicken legs/thighs to make a barbecue type sauce. Maybe add some tomato sauce or ketchup, smoked paprika, maybe a bit of mustard type thing, and bung in oven.

Or parkin, similar to gingerbread. Maybe the same thing, not really sure!
