blending potato
i seem to remember one of you saying that you had used a hand blender to make mashed potato and it went to the consistency of wallpaper paste.
i am making chunky soup with potato, carrot and leek and thought if i use the baby chicken stock cubes i have i could blend some of this up for abbie as a puree, can i blend this even though there is potato in it?
thanks
anna

If it's with something else it's fine to blend, all my soups have potato in them and I always blend them. It's just mash when it's blended goes like that xxxx

Once there is plenty of liquid with it, i.e. in soup, it will be fine. I always blitz up my potato and leek soup as I prefer creamy soupds to chunky ones and it always works just fine.

thanks ladies, came out fine. i thought it was very delicious indeed.
sadly like is the case with most foods little miss thought otherwise and kept her mouth clamped shut.
i was in Boots today and started wondering why i was bothering making all this food that is going in the bin (apart from the chicken with apricot and sweet potato but she can't have that every single meal!!!) so had a look at the readymade stuff (bad mummy) but the price put me off, was looking the plum ones and can't believe they can charge over £2 for a couple of tiny pots of mushed up veg that would no doubt end up in the bin too.
she literally clamps her mouth shut so you can't even squeeze a spoon in there.

my only advice is to not stick your finger around the blade
maybe she has a sweet tooth babe if she likes the apricot grub, i think there is an AK lamb & apricot recipe you could try and carrots are lovely and sweet too

Don't worry Bubba, i have seen your photos, and not sure if i told you before when you did yours but i did the same thing nearly three years ago when i was pregnant with Izzy, i still have slight numbness now in the end of my right index finger didn't look as bad as yours did on FB though!!!
Maybe you're right will try that lamb one. I think she is just a little pickle though as I decided i wasn't going to throw another perfectly good meal away so kept it and reheated it again a bit later on and she ate it all then. Think i need to make sure she is hungry enough, they keep you dancing a merry dance these little ones!

Jess used to love the sweet potato and lamb recipe haven't tried it with Sophie yet. I made the braised beef and sweet potato for Sophie the other day and she liked that one x
