Default Family Meals

I was just wondering how everyone cooks meals when lo having the same. I cant imagine how i could make shep pie and meals like that without salt. Was just thinking even tho lo will be able to have the same meal it will be in a separate pan / dish all the time so ours can be cooked with salt.

I just don't use salt! I don't cook anything separately anymore. I used to be a total salt addict but now I very rarely use it!

Aub's has the same as us, sheps pie, ect but i never ever put salt in whilst i am cooking, i never used to even before she came along we have always added it after (if need be).
But i am sure if your only adding a little bit, it'll be fine whilst it is all cooked up, the % of salt she would be getting would be very small

whats always confused me is that its ok for all these companies like heinz etc (not all but alot) have salt in their baby foods like rusks they have salt and sugar and quite alot of other things that babys can have from 4 months yet if we as mums add salt GOD FORBID! that makes us bad i dont understand if babys arent supposed to have salt why is it put in foods and then we are made to feel bad?especially as we know the reasons not to add salt even though a little can hurt as bread is made with salt and so has cheese. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm too much going on in my mind i thing LOL! )

Hi
I dont add salt to my cooking just after if needed and the only thing I really put salt onto is chips. When cooking our meals before lo was a year old I just used water then when cooked lifted out her portion then added in the stock cube for ours, that way she was having exactly the same as us but with out the added salt from the stock cube. Now that she is over a year I dont worry I add in the stock cube at the start of the cooking.
