Default hello and eggs!

Hello!

So glad to find this site... my new spiritual home.

Im am mum to 18 month year old triplets .. and currently living in greece for few years... so no access to health visitor, or help at all with respect to nutrition/health etc etc

I hope someone can help. One of my boys George had a severe reaction to egg (scrambled) - this was about 6 months ago. His breathing was raspy, he was head to toe in blotches... it was quite scarey. He was rushed to hospital and got a steroid shot.. and things calmed down.

Im very scared to introduce him to egg again... anyone have any ideas... as i feel he is missing out the goodness of eggs. Can one live without egg?

Thanks for any advice!

Hi! Welcome! Where are you from?

There are a couple of mums who have had kids with egg allergies-Tam and vmalzone I remember for sure had issues. If they do not respond you can try pm (private messaging) them.

This is the only link I found on this new site-the old site had lots of threads on this topic but unfortunately were not archived. ;-(

Hi and welcome to the site.

My advice would be to get your lo checked out to confirm whether he is allergic to eggs. From what you have said it sounds like he showed signs of severe reaction which is called anaphylaxis.

I must stress though this is rare and not the normal reaction from an allergy.

if your son required treatment from steriods or antihistamnies via a hospital, then you should not attempt to give him any eggs or products containing eggs or egg derivates in them until it has been confirmed by tests.

yes you can live without eggs, and there are a couple of mums on here that can tell you far more about that than me Your lo can get the goodness that are contained within eggs from other foods, so I would not worry too much about that.

Hth and there are some great sites on the web that give a lot more details about allergies that would be good for you if this is the case..x

thanks for the welcome all!

mrs ping - We living here as DH family are here - many many more hands during the first few years. Quite like the idea of toilet training on a beach..

jules06 -yes i think your right.. it was more than just a reaction... so once i find someone to do tests then we are there..

Nenag - well don't be put off by George's reaction, his twin brother Alex and sister Mia didn't bat an eyelid.. and have carried on with egg every since...

Will look out for Tam and vmalzone posts....

xx
