Sticking fingers in mouth

Have noticed that over the last few weeks, when Rhys has had enough food or wants out of high chair, he sticks his fingers in his mouth and almost gags. He stops this once you lift him out of the chair.

Any advice? He obvioulsy realises he gets attention and gets out if he does this: should I just stop feeding him but leave him in the chair til I want to get him out? Do you think this might stop him doing this when he realises he doesnt have the upper hand anymore?

When you see him starting to put his finger in his mouth say to him "All done Rhys? Come let's wash your hands". Try to stop him before he actually gags.

Ta Susie. Meant to say too but he's also doing it to get attention as he usu hates sitting in his high chair as he's strapped in: he will do it at the start and the of the meal too: I take his fingers out and tell him he'll make himself sick and that wouldnt be nice for him. I think he knows if he does it he will get attention and/or get out of the chair.

He's a real wee temper on him (wonder where he got that from?!) and has started holding his breath on me!
