Question Christmas Dinner

Hi everyone, hope you are all well and looking forward to christmas with your families.

This year i am cooking Christmas dinner for myself, my daughter and my fiance.

The problem is-i've never done it before and not quite sure what to do!!!

I'm cooking beef as the main-but don't know what size to get for the three of us, or cooking times, or what would go well with it.

Please help!!!

All suggestions/ideas and instructions would be greatly welcomed.

Thank you guys.

Happy holidays.xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I love roast beef!

I'd probably buy a topside lean roasting joint from the supermarket no bigger than 1kg ish. I'd cook it in an 180 degree oven for 25mins per 450g, plus 25 minutes (for 'medium' meat).

I'd serve it with Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, steamed carrots and brocolli (or whichever other vegetables I fancied). I'd also have gravy and some mustard or horseradish sauce on the side.

I'm easily pleased .

Hope you have fun making your Christmas dinner!

a joint of about 2kg would be plenty for 2 meals. Cooking times it really depends how u want it (rare, medium or well done).

For beef i would do roast pots and parsnips, yorkshire pud, carrots n swede puree, sprouts, cauli cheese, mash and gravy. but thts my personsl choice. with of course mustard or horseradish.
