green veg success
My 17 month boy used to eat almost everything I put in front of him at first, but now he pushes away all the things LOs are supposed to love: peas, sweetcorn, pasta, baked beans... rarely eats raw fruit but will eat veggie/lentil stews and pureed/mushed fruit.
He's had no greens for ages, so what I did was cook some peas and steam a big leek, then puree them both before putting in with onion and pots for a leek/pot/pea soup (I avoid pureeing pots as they go all gloopy). It looked disgusting - green splodge - but I thinned it with some milk and creme fraiche.
I gave him a bit to try and he immediately made the 'yuk' face, without hardly touching it. Later his dad gave him a spoonful and he realised he liked it and ate loads...
I know that when I stress about LO's food and worry whether he'll eat something or not, often he pushes it away - it's like a game he plays with me. Have decided to relax about this as much as poss and make mushy things for him to eat as that is what he seems to prefer.
I was well chuffed - hope that helps someone in a similar position.
