H is regressing yet further now. He really only likes 3 meals, and invariably goes to bed on an empty stomach if he is given anything else. Now I have a new problem to contend with; He has stopped eating breakfast. Not keen on Weetabix any more. Refuses any other cereals. Hardly eats any toast ( marmalade or peanut butter on), and wont eat fruit. Yeserdays banana was just left there on the taable all morning. He does still have a big drink of milk which I figured was affecting his appetite, however any attempts to delay the milk till after food, or reduce the quantity of milk just ends up in a screaming match.
Any advice? (he is 27 months) ang xx |

Rachael has covered most of the tricks I would suggest too.
I have AK's Eat fussy book and has lots of other brekkie things to try - from a sort of baby muesli and granola bars, to pancakes and french toast with fruit etc. If he likes the milk then a yummy banana porridge might work? mix the oats and milk the night before, cover and refrigerate until morning. microwave or heat up in a saucepan in the morning until warm but not hot (unless he will allow you cooling time!) then mix in a mashed banana and a swirl of maple syrup to make sweet, and see how he goes with it. the only other thing I can think of, which has worked with Tilly in the past, is getting her to help. for the above recipe, she mashed the banana with me, mixes it into the warm porridge, helps to pour the syrup and mixes again. is a bit messy, but worth it if she eats it all! good luck xx |

Thanks to you both. I will go and check out the recipe for the bars - might be an option - porridge is a no-no. wont look at that anymore
. I am trying to remember to get some new cups for him - I like the idea of a smoothie, so will follow that up, also great idea to thin the milk down a bit.jeesh!!. Where did it all go wrong!!!!!!! ang x |

don't worry honey - and remember, their growth rate slows down considerably between age 2 and 3, so appetites can vary. My friend has a very fussy eater, and he barely ate anything at that age for about six months, so his mum had to get really inventive with smoothies etc, but he's absolutely fine - always was - just fussy/ picky and really not bothered about food!
have you tried getting some cookie cutters and cutting up his toast or sandwiches into train or dinosaur shapes? might work... xx |
