Help!!!! Not Eating!!!!
Hi all hope everyone is OK and getting in festive mood? I really need a bit of advice regarding my 15 month old. He has always been a chunky baby (10lb 2oz born) but for the last 4 months has refused to eat anything! He has lost quite a lot of weight (is still a good weight though). He hasn't touch veg for 3 months and use to love fruit but is starting to refuse this aswell. He has even gone off of his morning and evening bottle which he used to love! The only things he will eat is bread, houmous, pasta and pesto (occasionally), yogurt, crisp, frutapura (fruit puree) and current buns. He loves sweet stuff but he doesn't have these very much. I have tried everything ,sitting him on my lap, picnics on the kitchen floor etc. He does eat with the family for breakfast and dinner. I do cook everything fresh he has NO processed foods and I have tried every trick in the book (annabel karmel etc) to get him to eat. He goes to nursery 3 days a week and he eats there, not loads but more than he eats at home. I am at the end of my tether. My health visitor has told me not to worry that he is a good size and is a happy toddler and its just a phase but 4 MONTHS!!
Any advice PLEASEEEEE!!!

I dont have any advice for you really hun, as Im going through the same with thomas. It really is a nightmare but I think the best thing to do is like you hv says and not worry - even though you cant do anything else when he's on the 2nd scrambled egg in a day as he wont eat anything else.
Thomas wont eat anything but egg, strawberrys, cheese, occasionally a home made muesli if he's in the mood, and toast, but only if im lucky.
Inside im stressing but like you hv says dont worry he's a good weight - 27pound and 13 months. Its really hard not to though isnt it?
Im just going to keep persevering, its all I can do. Just wanted you to know that your not alone!
Big hugs!
xx

Have not had chance to get on for a while, but Logan is doing the same so you are not alone, even though he is younger it is still worrying, HV says as long as he is taking his bottle as replacement then he is getting all the good stuff he needs, but i still worry.
He used to eat fruit and a little veg but now he wont touch either and i cant give it to him any other way as he wont feed from a spoon anymore, think it is all down to him teething.
He tends to eat more for my mum when she looks after him while i am at work but is doing the opposite for me!!!!!!!!

I can totally relate to all these comments and although everyone says not to worry, its very hard not to. My LO will eat hardly anything, even things hes always liked he now refuses. Its so frustrating and worrying. I don't know what else to try to be honest, i also feel at the end of my tether. I am desperate for him to eat healthy and like a variety of foods but at the moment this seems an impossibility. Sometimes i blame myself and think it must be something i have done wrong but it just seems some babies eat well and some are fussy.
Considering that feeding is at the heart of nurturing its no wonder us mums find this all so stressful and concerning. Just know you are not alone!!

Hi, my Evie is 18 months old and after suffering from chronic constipation all over christmas has suddenly stopped eating. She has now been put on lactulose but will only eat yoghurts, biscuits, breadsticks and crisps. Sometimes i can get some grapes and pear in to her but she gets very distressed if i even put her in her highchair. I guess we just have to wait for these things to pan out, they wouldnt starve themselves i'm sure.
I'm hoping Evie hasn't made the link between eating and having to do poos as this could be difficult! We still dont know what caused her constipation as she ate a very healthy diet before of wholegrain pasta/bread and cereals. Loads of frui and veg and drank lots of juice. It is so frustrating!

Hi, I've just sent you a personal message as our little one ended up with chronic constipation too. It is just awful but when they are bunged up they don't want to eat as their little tummies are too full. We tried everything, massages, lactulose, etc before ending up in hospital and now we are on different meds trying to get things regular and easier for our lo. Our lo would scream when she tried to poo, and she would scream during the night etc due to the pain she was in but now with the new meds her eating is back to normal and things are getting better.
I hope your little one picks up soon xxx
