Default My little boy is under the weather

Hi all

My little boy who is 3 was diagnosed with the shingles on Thursday. The doctor told me he has probably gotten these because he is run down. He has been suffering cold after cold lately but I put this down to having started nursery school a few months ago. This is the first time he has been in the company of so many children and I have been told that they will catch everything going!!! When the words "run down" were mentioned, I felt like the worst mother ever. He has since been given an antibiotic and vitamins as well. I am trying to get all the best foods into him but he is quite a fussy eater. Any ideas of how to get good vitamin enriched foods into him would be greatly appreciated. Especially any ideas on how to get greens into him, preferably without him noticing!!!!

Thanks

You should take a look at the new fussy eaters book by ak. Lots of people have said they have had lots of success with their kids and the recipes.

And do not feel like a bad mum. Some kids are just more susceptible than others. Is he in a lot of pain from the shingles?

And a big welcome to a very friendly and addictive site!

Hi noababy

Thank you. He is not too bad but he cries if anyone touches the area where the rash is like when my husband lifted him last night, he cried out. He is brighter today which has made me happier too. I must get a copy of that book and give it a go.

Thanks again
Nicola

Thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated. It's funny how talking to people about things makes you feel that bit better. He loves peas and chicken soup. Must start blending the green veg into sauces to see if that works!
