Talking Fao Noababy - Ak Recipies!

HI here are the recipies you asked for:

I hope I dont get shot by annabel for this! Gulp!

Yummy burgers:

1 med red onion- chopped
3tbsp sunflower oil
1 garlic clove, crushed
1/2 teaspoon thyme leaves
2 slices white bread, crusts removed
250g (9oz) minced beef - (i used steak mince)
3 tbsp tomato chutney - or tom relish
salt and freshly ground black pepper
flour for dusting

saute the onion in 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil for 5 mins or until soft. add the garlic and thyme and cook for 1 minute ( i didnt use thyme i used mixed dried herbs). Tear the bread into pieces and put in the food proc with the onion mixture and blitz.
If you want smooth texture, blitz all the ingredients together (i did this) if not, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and season. Form the mixture into 4 burgers using flour dusted hands.
Fry the burgers in the remaining oil for 4-5 mins on each side over a med to low heat. Dont put on a high heat as the sugar in the tom chutney will burn.
Makes 4 burgers. I made more the next night and put them in the freezer individually wrapped, uncooked.

swedish meatballs

50g (2 oz) white bread-crusts removed
4 tbsp milk
150g (5 1/4 oz) onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp sunflower oil
110g (4oz) minced beef
110g (4oz) pork mince
1/4 tsp grated nutmeg
1 egg yolk
salt and pepper to season
flour for dusting

Tear the bread into 1/2 inch pieces and put in a bowl with the milk. Soak for 10 mins.
Put the onion in a large pan with 1 tbsp of the oil and saute for 5-6 mins over a med heat until the onion is translucent. Transfer the onion into a bowl and add the milky bread, mince, nutmeg and egg yolk. season well and mix thoroughly or put in a blender for a smooth texture.
Put the remaining oil on a baking sheet and take heaped teaspoons of the mixture and roll into balls - around 25 or so - using floured hands. Put on the baking sheet and cook for 20 mins. Turning halfway through.

Yummy!
