Default Weaning problem - help needed

Hi. This is my second daughter, and she is now 6 months, I have been trying to wean her for 2 weeks, but she will not accept any foods, I have tried baby rice, baby rice with pureed pear, sweet potato and carrot. As soon as the spoon gets to her mouth she just closes it and will not open it. I have tried stopping for a few days and then trying again. If she is playing with a spoon with no food on she will put this in her mouth. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It's quite normal for babies who are teething to go off their feeds. Their gums hurt so that makes eating and drinking difficult and sore. Try using something like bonjella or another teething gel/product just before feeding. Use well chilled teething rings to cool his gums. If you can get one you could try a safety feeder with frozen fruit in it to help soothe. Banana, steamed apple or pear would all work well frozen. If he is bottle fed then try him with cold milk and this might help soothe more and make it easier for him. Offer him milk more frequently if he is not drinking the normal amounts in one go. Generally the worst will pass in a couple of days and he should get back to normal.
