Came across this during the weekend and thought it would be good to share with you. It is a little long, but the main focus is that most of high weight risk factors are actually based on obese, inactive, poor eating people. Many risk factors drop off when you are in the overweight category. If you stay healthy (eat healthy foods and get exercise) but aren't necessary satisfactory weight, you may not have a significant risk for many diseases. I found it an interesting read, especially considering my motivations in the weight loss challenge. Even losing my 10 lbs, I will be borderline overweight based on BMI. Still plan to work on it, but now not so upset if I don't get past it.
The article suggests taking weight loss at 10% of your body weight at a time with small changes in your diet. Slow and steady!
