Unhappy Any physiotherapists? Or joint specialists?

I am in agony with my hip.

It feels as though it needs to 'click' iykwim?

I have always had a bi of a dodgy hip and it normally clicks quite oddly, i can sort of manouver it in a weird way - hard to describe - but the last couple of days i have restricted movement and this very sharp pain!

Any ideas? Or suggestions?

Ouchy!

Poor you! Did you have dislocated hip when you were born? I had, had to wear cast for few months etc.
Get a slight pain in my hips now and again but not too bad.
Go to doc, get an x-ray and see what going on!
In the mean time you could start taking glucosamine sulphate, good for the ould joints!!! D

sounds similar to what i have. I was born with 'clicky hips' which means it wasn't totally dislocated but can pop out. I had to wear 3 terry nappies at once!
Every now ad then it hurts like hell and i can feel it almost popping out.
I got talking to a mum at school a few months ago and found out shes a orthopedic surgeon of all things. She was really helpful and has told me to get referred to see someone as if it is popping out it can wear the bone down She also told me that where i though my other hip was hurting its actually where my spine meets my pelvis??

It could be lots of things. Hip pain or pain from the hip joint is typically felt in your groin. Often when someone says they are experiencing hip pain they are actually referring to their lowback, or sacral/buttock area.

Try this. If you have a ball about the size of a soccer ball. Lie on the floor with your knees bent. Put the ball in between your knees. Squeeze the ball with your knees and hold for about 15-30 seconds and then relax. Repeat for a few minutes.

It is very possible what you are experiencing is muscular. A popping sound coming from a joint is not necessarily an indication that the joint is subluxing it generally means that the joint is going from a higher pressure to a lower one.

See if this helps next time you get that sensation where it feels like you need your "hip" to pop.
