Default cramp!

does anyone suffer or know any ways of reducing cramps?
ive been suffering really bad for the last few months. I started going aqua arobics twice a week, it started with just twinges when ide done half the class. then over the sessions it got worse and worse. now it starts as soon as i get in the pool. its really starting to p**s me off!
life guard woman said it could be a few things. lack of salt in diet. lack of vitamins/minerals. change of diet in general. do warm up stratches etc before hand.
so now i have more salt (didnt have any in diet before at all) taking a multi-vitamin now. got a good healthy varied diet and do stretches and warm ups before class. also take a botlle of lucazade now instead of just water.
Any ideas would be great..
thanx for listening

emma xx

I had loads when I was pregnant with Meg and have started to get them again.......the midwife advised that I had a small glass of tonic water before bed. Like cole said maybe go and see your GP about a blood test xxx

I used to get cramp in my calf when pregnant too. I have heard about the salt in your diet and my mum told me to eat a banana a day for the potassium as that is supposed to stop them. x

Whenever i exercise i get cramp, sometimes hours later... I have been informed if its exercise related you need to ensure proper warm up/cool down and its not diet related.

i do do warm ups and cool downs etc. lots of stretching before aswell.
luckily i dont get night cramps, only cramp when exercising.
the life guard at the pool is at uni studying health and fitness and all that kind of stuff and she said it'll be lack of minerals/vitamins etc.i dont know. i havent been aqua for 2 weeks now coz ive been poorly with a chest infection. hopefully be back on sunday. ive changed everything she suggested so ill see what happens. thanx for every ones help.
