Default Advice on weaning please!

Hi

I'm Breastfeeding my little one who is now 5 and a half months old. I recently introduced her to solids & starting to try weaning to formula.
However after her formula feed she vomits, quite violently. I had thought she would be ok as she has had formula in the past, the ready to go SMA cartons, but with the powdered SMA it obviously upsets her tummy.
What i wanted to ask was if it was possible to wean your bay to solids without using formula at all? As her appetite for food increases will her need for milk decrease?
And if so what kind of timescale would this take as I will be returning to work in a few months time & don't think that i will be able to continue with breastfeeding at this point.
Any advice greatly appreciated!

When she reaches 6 months old you can use full fat cows milk in cooking and on cereals etc, until then you need to use her usual milk.

You may find the more she begins to eat then she may drop a milk feed at some point but shes quite young at mo so still needs plenty of milk, the guidelines are 18-20oz milk in a 24 hr period I believe.

I'm not sure what to suggest with the milk I'm afraid, could it possibly be that she is drinking too fast from a bottle? Is the teat too fast a flow? Or perhaps try a different formula.

Not sure if I've answered your question but hope I've been of some help x

Default weaning

try changing the formula to cow and gate, sma is very rich and can sometimes be too much in my experience.
