I wasn't planning to start expressing just yet as I thought it was too early and didn't need too but my boobs are sooooo big and sore I feel like they are going to explode! Olivias feeding is going perfectly after a bad start (dr wanted to tube feed her as she didn't know what to do first feed but midwifes expressed 5mls and syrenge fed her and 2nd feed she was fine). She feeds every 3 hours for 20-30 mins. I remember the soreness with other 2 but this time is so bad.
I thought at this stage my milk is adjusting to Olivias needs so not to start expressing yet till it settles down. Am I right in thinking this? |

Cole, I have a box of the bags from boots, only used a handful of them, honestly, if you want them I'm more than happy to send them to you as I won't be using them now, save you buying them, PM me if you want them!
I expressed just an ounce or so to ease the discomfort as mine were HUGE!! Overnight boob job! x |

I used to express in the evenings from about three weeks. She fed constantly all day but in the evening went from 7pm until midnight so by 10pm I was full. Sometimes I would express after her first morning feed if I was still engorged.
There was a stage at about 5 weeks when I felt like my milk had gone (was my supply settling) so I expressed straight after every feed for a few days to boost it and get some reserves in freezer. I used milk bags or avert via cups. My pump would connect straight to the via cups which was handy. |
