hurting boob

My right boob which has always been the one Abbie seemed to prefer is hurting this morning, i noticed in the night it felt quite lumpy and hard around the top middle bit, i have fed her on that side since and tried to massage the hard bit but it doesn't seem to have gone. It is now feeling quite tender, like if she leans back against it when sat on my lap it hurts a bit. What is the best thing to do, she prob won't feed again now till around 11ish...should i try to express and massage it again?

sounds like mastitis babe, you need to keep feeding from that boob and make sure she empties it (lol though how you know if it's empty i don't know). Keep massaging it and maybe try putting a hot/warm flannel on it for 5mins then massaging and then a cold flannel

Have a nice warm bath Anna and do big sweeping strokes in towards the nipple. You could do this while she feeds too, if it doesn't improve pop and see GP. I got a few random ouches but nothing that stuck around xx

I randomly get sore tits, usually sorts itself out in a day or two... could be just a blocked duct. Lots of feeding and rubbing orrerr

I had that with Sophie once was bloody painful I did what the other ladies suggested warm bath and massaged it and kept Sophie feeding from it - it went in a few days xxx

i have had a bath and fed her again but it is still flippin sore and it is in one specific place, should i express? it is so annoying as we are going to start sleep training tonight and try and cut out the night feeds so it is only going to get worse (i obviously will express in the night if feels like i need to)

you could try and express hun see if that helps it did take a few days with me to clear up x

Is the area red and hot at all? I had mastitis when i was feeding Oliver & it bloody hurt. Also like others got random sore spots that never really came to anything and massaged did hot / cold compress etc but if you feel it's not getting any better by tomorrow morning i would see the dr. Good luck with the sleep training too let us know how you get on. x
