Have I missed something, surely everyone has either asked a question or posted a positive comment about how good it is to have her on board???

Sos IM, just seen your post, damn site's so bloody slow....

Look at the number of views on this one. I thought the Mumsnet thread was interesting, AK is a massive brand now and maybe some of the questions are valid?! Hey ho, here is not the place me thinks xxx

The link would have made so much more sense if I have read it from bottom up! Oh well!

On a more serious note, do Mumsnet people think we are a bunch of muppets who worship at the feet of AK and only do what she says foresaking all other advice?? I have books by many people including Gina Ford and the baby whisperer (sorry have forgotten her name) and I would purchase Clare's book along with other authors next time I am in the market for breast feeding advice, I will read them all cover to cover and absorb advice that I think will work for me and disregard the rest as most sensible mums with half an ounce of brain cells will do!

The fact that most of us on here now have children in their toddlers years and are way past the puree stage would suggest that we are here for other reasons than nutritional advice alone. Like the fact that this is a much smaller, easier to use and friendlier forum and we have all built up friendships on here.

Sorry, none of that has to do with breastfeeding.

On a more light hearted note it amused me that a couple of us get an indirect mention for names we call our children....

'Little Feckers' I assume belongs to Rachelmae and I am guilty of calling Joseph a 'little git' from time to time on here. Shoot me now for I am truly a terrible mother!

As far as I know, Clare is a midwife who specialises in breastfeeding issues. She does do private work, helping individuals in their home and charges £120 an hr afaik.

We are all grown adults with minds of our own and it just seems a bit petty to be so incendiary about something so trivial in the grand scheme of things.

An expert is coming on to a forum to help mothers who need advice. If you don't want the advice or don't agree with the expert then don't pay attention, but leave those who want to listen and need help to do so in peace.

I am looking for all the help I get get with regard to breastfeeding my impending arrival so I for one will not only be looking at the advice given by Clare but also looking to other sources and rescources. I have a mind of my own and just because I post on this particular forum doesn't mean I am closed to other ideas and theories.

Most people learn to parent by gleaning advice from various sources, and using what is appropriate to them or fits best with their lifestyle, me and just about everyone I know included.

If Clare Byam-Cook can help one Mum breastfeed for longer or Annabel Karmel can help one Mum learn how to homecook for her children or Gill Rapley can help one Mum learn about babyled weaning or Gina Ford can help one Mum gain some kind of control in her routine then surely something good has been done if that's what those particular Mums were searching for?

Just my opinions of course .

xxxxxxxxxx
