Default Toddler Books

Right im looking to buy Nasir a load of new books and thought we could create a reading list type thing on here just copy and pasting. The ones considered classic childrens, must have, good for education and most importantly enjoyed by los.

Isabella loves the Gruffalo and Gruffalos child books more than any others.

Other favourites include "How much do I love you" (known as the Bunny wabbit book by little miss) and all of the Large Family (Jill Murphy) books (known as the elephant books )

We got our bookstart kit at 2 year check today and that gave loads of suggestions and we got a board copy of Dear Zoo which will come in handy since a certain monster ripped her copy up.

We enjoy a few already mentioned:

We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen & Helen Oxbury
The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson & Alex Scheffler
The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Eric Carle
Dear Zoo, Rod Campbell
Santasaurus by Niamh Sharkey - this one has lovely illustrations - I have colour copied one of the pages and put it in a frame in Tilly's room

plus a few others too:

Room on the Broom, by Julia Donaldson & Alex Scheffler
Ducky Dives In, by Richard Waring & Guy Parker-Rees

and we got some 'Little Kipper' books free with Fairy which Tilly loves too - 'Honk' is my fave!

can't check out the collection of books at the mo as Tilly asleep! Will add more tomorrow xx

Ooh such a good thread! We're going to get Logan a load of new books from Amazon for Christmas as English books are much more expensive here. Will be great to get ideas!
The Gruffalo - we have a box set with 2 others, Monkey Puzzle and The Smartest Giant in Town. Logan loves them all!
Dear Zoo
The Very Hungry Caterpillar - Logan always says Wow when he sees the page with all the food on it!
The Very Small by Joyce Dunbar - Just got it from my sis for his birthday and loves it already!
He still loves That's not my Tractor and can say all the words off by heart!

We're planning on getting him:
We're going on a Bear Hunt
The Tiger who came to Tea
A Squash & a Squeeze (by Gruffalo author)
The Wheels on the Bus board book
That's not my car, train & truck books
Maybe some Charlie & Lola books because I love them so much!!

Logan also got all of these in a set: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_...han+&x=20&y=12
They're all brill for bedtime stories as he likes a longer story now. Our favourite is The Very Noisy Night, I don't mind how many nights in a row he asks for it!
