Default Just finished reading...

A Thousand Splendid Suns and OMG what a book, the second book for writer Khaled Hosseini. A real womens books about the trial and tribulations of living in Afghanistan with a violent husband inside and the Taliban outside. Very sad but very thought provoking.

I read his previous book 'The Kite Runners' which IMHO was better, sadder, more heart wrenching but I think that 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' gives you an insight into a life you will never (thankfully) have to experience or suffer and makes you eternally thankful that you are living in the western world.

That book does sound good. I have just finished reading nineteen minutes by jodi picoult. Very good, enjoyed it. I have now started the chocolate run by dorothy koomson. Think it'll be ok but not on same level as my best friend's girl, very good book.

I read this about a month ago and found it absolutely heart wrenching, I cried and cried when I finished it. It makes you realise how lucky we are to live the lives we do.

The Kite Runner is a fantastic book too.

I read a thousand splendid suns after watching the kite runner at the cinema. I was very interested given hubby comes from afghanistan. It is all quite true to how so many womens lives are that live in afg, sadly.
