Default Miss Austen Regrets

Did anyone see this last night? What did you think? I'm not actually an Austen fan, but really enjoyed this film. Was much more my thing... as in it ends a bit more harshly realistic rather than everyone living happily ever after.

I saw the last part of it and I really, really liked it. Still wished it could have had a BIT of a happy ending, though.

It was good. I enjoyed it.
It's a shame, but I think that was pretty much the end to her life she died of Addisons Disease (so it says in her biography).

It even seemed bittersweet for her niece really - taking the "big house" route. The one I really felt for was the eldest sister tho - she was the one who was really left alone in the end... at least Jane had her writing. Was nice too that at least she knew she was loved by someone, even tho he was some else's husband

I only got round to watching this last night (had sky plussed it when it was on).

Really enjoyed it, didn't really know anything about her life before, I am sad that her own life didn't mirror her love stories she wrote.

I think I am going to read either Mansfield Park or Persuasion now as haven't read either and have enjoyed P&P, S&S and Emma.
