Default Fave Food/Recipe Books

Replying to Alexander's Mummy's Recommend an Author Thread, I thought it could be interesting to swap our fave recipe books and food writers.

My all-time fave food writer is Nigella, but also like Nigel Slater, Cas Clarke and all-time fave book is Claudia Roden's Book of Jewish Food.

What's yours?

I love Indian Every Day by Anjum (can't rememebr her surname but she did the tv series Indian made easy!)

The Indian Every day is full of low fat recipes that are really easy to do, you just need to get the spices! Dominic loves curries and has had quite a few from this book!!

I also have a load of BBC good food cookbooks - they are great for everyday meals!

xx

I like Jamie Oliver cook books, but hubby really likes the river cottage recipe books by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. Hubby likes to try different dishes and is a much better cook then I am.

Oooo me too! I've still got my copy from school!

I really like Jamie Oliver's books especially Jamie at Home and Nigella Lawson's How to Eat. I've also got a subscription to Good Food magazine which I think has some great recipes in.

I love my grandmother's collection of really old ones. We used to often make traybakes from them - I remember it usually involved loads of pastry, condensed milk, jam and desiccated coconut!
