Whatever you like! Tescos often have 3 for 2 books online and Asda often have cheap books in store. Its just abt getting different books.
What abt Mr Men ones? Rhys will do the last few pages in them after we've read the bits before. Means then theres also growing space ie he can grow from reading a little to the whole thing himself. We have all his "baby books" out for Cara to look at but it also means he can pick them up and read a whole book by himself and feel proud he's managed it. If you want school type ones what abt the Usborne Phonics one like Fat Cat on a Mat etc? Rhyming books like the Julia Donaldson ones are also good as the sounds of the rhyming words is nice to hear for them. Rhys also likes his Ladybird ones like: Tesco.com - Page not found which are easy enough to read. Even caught him reading the Rice Krispies box the other day "make this easy recipe" and today he was singing "Argos: we deliver, big and small" after seeing a lorry with that on it.... |

Awww Rhys is so cute
![]() Nate is doing that too, he read everything now. He shouted on me last night when he was in the loo and I walked in to find him pooping and reading Simon Pegg's autobiography LOLHe was telling me that Simon "had a happy childhood and loved star wars" I was stunned LOLI think I'll go for the usborne route, he likes Julia Donaldson but we have most of her book already so I wanted to get him something similar to what he would be reading at school so it isn't such a big change for him, he doesn't like change and it really upsets and give him huge anxiety so I like to start him off by showing him something similar. Maybe I should get him so kipper books? ![]() |

My friend Jo recommends Letter-Land. They focus on one letter per book and are fun to read.
Harper Collins Big Cat books are also great. A friend bought Tilly some last year and she enjoys them as are simple. We looked in the early reader section at the library and they had some books called "reading corner phonics" with titles like "Peg Leg" (the pirate) and "Run Rat Run" otherwise, if I'm reading a more grown up picture book to Tilly, I'll look out for words I know she could sound out and ask her to read them so we read together.
