I dont know about books but Evan has an alphabet puzzle that we do together and thats helped him learn alot about letters. He picked up the 'M' yesturday and said "Look m for mummy and m for mouse" so hes slowly getting the hang of it. When we do it we always sound the letters out and I always say other things that begin with that letter.
That Leap pad Scrible and write thingy is also good for getting them to learn to draw letters and recognise them. Here it is. |

Tilly has a couple of books which are good.
One is a "Slide and Learn" book - they do alphabet and numbers too: ABC (Slide & Learn): Amazon.co.uk: Hinkler Books: Books She also has a "Early Learning Fun" book which is wipe clean - has a special pen - has lots of things in it including numbes and the alphabet. Early Learning Fun Wipe Clean Let's Learn Activity Books: Amazon.co.uk: Roger Priddy: Books and finally, this wipe clean book - "Let's Get REady for SChool" is fab too - we got ours from a Mini IQ book party: Let's Get Ready for School: Amazon.co.uk: Roger Priddy: Books |

the pridy range do a box of number and a box of letter cards: Sainsburys and Tesco do them. They are quite big and on the opposite side of each letter card there are other words starting with the letter.
Play I-spy: we started by spying something that was red etc before moving onto the proper way with letters. Sort things into letter piles like "s" pile for shoe, sock, string Do join the dots to make up her name. Maybe have Countdown on in the background on tv: we started with how many "e"'s were on screen in a round and read the letters out as they were put up. try websites: Printable Alphabet Letters | Alphabet Worksheets | Pre-K & K |

I think storytime is great at this age. Discuss stories/pictures etc.
A nice website is Learn to Read with phonics - letters, stories etc. |

Thanks. Georgia loves books and games so hopefully some of these will help her. We read every day and she 'reads' to me too she just really wants to know her letters. I'll let you know how she gets on and what works for her x
