This was on the news this morning. A new study says that babies that face away from their mothers in buggies grow up to have poor language and suffer anxiety.
For both babies we had the first pram that could go either direction and for the first year or so i had it facing me then once they were older facing out but apperntly ( ) they should face the parent for the first 2 years. I understand where they are coming from, i personally like to have them facing me so i can talk easier but this just another study to tell us parents that we are doing it all wrong yet again. When are they going to bring out a study that tells us that loving your kids and always trying to do best by them is good for them and helps them grow into brilliant adults, sorry but it has got my goat, and also where do they get their money for these type of studies? when so many children are starving right now i cant help but think what a waste of money.....Why 'traumatised' babies in front-facing buggies grow into 'anxious' adults | Mail Online |

I guess it depends on how much you use a stroller. If you spend lots of other time face to face with your lo, I would think it is good for them to be looking at other stuff. I do find it shocking when I see mommies with their ipods on while strollering their kiddies. Not so much when the los are young (ie- sleeping in the stroller), but when they are older and looking quite bored because there is no one to talk to them!
Too many "studies" these days. |

Whatever will they come up with next. I still have Oliver facing me in the pram as I like to be able to look my little handsome monkey & talk to him, to each their own I say. My friend here in america has nagged at me since he was about 9 months old to switch him the other way but I won't. x
