Default Being a SAHM is boring!

All I ever wanted to be was a SAHM.... but what a yawn it is. Does anyone else feel like this? I keep dreaming about getting a job

The house is clean, the meals are all homemade, the menus are planned. I play with Ava, read to her, take her on outings. But life is just so flippin dull. I am so bored with the monotony (sp?)

Can anyone relate to this? I feel really bad complaining because I know there are loads of mummies who have to work and would love to be a SAHM but I feel so aimless.

Yep, totally agree, although now that Joseph goes to nursery in the mornings I have a bit of free time to go to the gym, learn Spanish or what-not so it doesn't feel as bad.

I often feel like I am going brain dead as I used to have a good career back in the UK and since I've lived over here I've been a gloried cleaner and cook and now a SAHM, the old brain cells are fuzzing over! Probably why I spend so much time on here to be honest.

I was off for a year with maternity, then I went back to work part time, which I loved. I then got made redundant... I have been wishing the time away hoping for another job... I start tomorrow and I feel sick. I am going back full time and the thought of leaving molly leaves me sick to the stomach... what if she forgets who I am etc!

I'm being totally honest, i dont find it boring at all. I've always worked with children as its my passion so being a mum is an extension of that. Of course there are some days when i wish i could walk away and go to work and leave a tantruming toddler with someone else but on the whole i really enjoy it.

good luck huney, she will be fine. Hows looking after her? she will never forget who you are, no one ever replaces a mum, no matter how much time they spend with other people, you'll be the only one that will give her that lovley loving feeling xxxx

I'm a SAHM one week! Then work one week! So experience both. Love my week with kids. But also like the week working (and the money!) I decided to job share so i could spend more time with kids, D

For those of you who love it... how do you spend your days? I feel like I'm just here to facilitate everyone else's life, I don't mean to sound moany, I am genuinely interested in finding out how I could enjoy this time in my life more. Maybe I'll find it less boring when Ava can talk to me
